selwyn and his escapades
the submarine selwyn
pay, selwyn and i went to swim on sunday. so pay was teaching selwyn some basic techniques of the freestyle and stuff. so pay asked him to try to stretch his hand as far out as possible. he said that by doing so u can stay afloat. so selwyn tried it out. after awhile pay nudged me and ask me go underwater and see it. so i went underwater and all i saw was selwyn stretching his arms as far out as possible and trying to float. his whole body was straight and floating. but he kept sinking until he sank to the bottom of the pool then he surfaced and asked, " HOW COME LIKE THAT ONE!" and pay and i just started laughing.
strength is not needed when polishing
selwyn and i bought our leather shoes earlier today. so selwyn came over to my house to borrow shoe polish. so i started polishing my shoes. and selwyn started on his. after awhile he noticed that his shoes weren't getting any brighter..but for some reason..getting darker instead. so he decided to polish even harder. but to no avail. the shoe kept getting darker. so selwyn used all his strength on this small area and kept on trying. meanwhile i was polishing my shoes when he suddenly exclaimed," omg why is my shoe black now?" so i went to take a look at his shoe and burst out laughing. at the front of his shoe where he focused all his energy on was this black spot. and the other parts where he was polishing was a darker shade from the part where he didnt polish. so we found out that he actually rubbed away the light paint that was sprayed onto his shoes to make it a light brownish colour. but being the strong selwyn as he is, there's nothing a little more strength cant solve. HAHA.

Things to note after the marathon
1. Don't follow chio bu (for too long)
After sort of 'following' one for about 20km, I overtook her and then got a bad groin cramp. The cramps killed me at the end of the run. :(
2. Take power gel only when you're near the end.
The organisers provided a free power gel for each runner at the 26km mark. I ate the power gel not long after they gave me, thinking it will cure my cramps. It did. I also got a second burst of speed until 30+ km but at the end, I felt like crap with no energy. Power gel is like red bull; it gives you (temporary) wings....
3. Train for your marathon if you want to do it properly.
