lily

i think i learned quite a few things from lilies on the river ytd! yay.

1. Singapore river tastes salty
2. you can get sunburnt on ur shoulders if you're wearing a singlet
3. don't throw coconuts u pick up from the river at looloo
4. if you do, row very far away from him b4 he has the chance to cap u
5. selwyn doesn't like rats anymore
6. ky is v cunning bcoz he askd selwyn to throw the rat
7. hearing abt someone else capping is funnier than capping yourself
8. lilies r made from some plastic thing
9. when rats r being chased by cats, they jump into the river. andden the cat doesnt give up chasing
10. u dun wanna cap in sg river twice.

yup!

selwyn's capsize drill in the singapore river

lets elaborate on selwyn's capsize today. hahahaha.

i didnt really see it, but it sounded really exciting from selwyn telling me about it. hahah. so what happened was selwyn saw a dead rat amongst the lilies. lets just say that if another person were to spot that dead rat, he/she would probably ignore it and hope someone clears up the mess. but if ur a nice guy like selwyn u would try to get rid of the dead rat. however, if ur a nice and STRONG guy like selwyn, perhaps u would wanna try and catapult the rat away. i mean..the catapult is one of the few primitive ways of propelling something in the air anyway!

so here's some illustrations of what really happened:

this is kinda the area, just to get a scene into ur head

so above is kinda the scene. selwyn spots a dead rat. selwyn moves towards the dead rat.

selwyn reaches out for the rat, gets ready to catapult it.

selwyn catapults it, pretty successful in this scene. rat flies in the air.

unfortunately, when ur as strong as selwyn, u tend to overuse ur strength sometimes. the result is overtilting ur boat. since selwyn overtilted his boat, he was unable to follow thru in the motion, therefore, rat didnt fall far away from him.

selwyn capsizes. selwyn is drenched with water that contains dead rats, dead fishes and dead cats (the evening shift people saw a dead cat). selwyn lands nearby a dead rat. selwyn is dirty.

so we can conclude that selwyn is a real man, although ordinary man would leave dead rat alone, hoping it'll decompose soon, selwyn attempts to make everyone's life easier by catapulting rat. since selwyn is a STRONG and nice man, it is very very easy to miscalculate the amount of strength needed. therefore selwyn has thru this capsize, shown that he is a strong and nice man.

oh anyway, jameson also got capsized by people in his shift. well. no suprises there. if u poke people almost as frequently as jameson does, u shld expect people to screw u upside down almost as frequently. haha!

okay im sleepy.

mug hard people!

lilies in the water cip

As most might know, today we went for our lilies in the water cip thing (is it spelt correctly?).

So they asked me to blog about it. Well, here I am, but aiyah, got nothing much la.

I think next time i not so sleepy then i blog proper.

Basically, on the water, there were lots of lilies, which was a nice sight actually, if it weren't lept in such a disappointingly small area, some motorboats that gave us a minor backwashes, a few dead animals, one or two capsizes, a small mudskipper, a coconut, an apple, some cigarrete butts, some garbage like plastic bags, and BILLIONS of flotsam. Boy, you'd hate to taste the water there.

I know what you're thinking right now. No, i'm not gonna elaborate on the capsizes, not today at least. Maybe you can get someone else to blog that. I just wanna say that if you see a dead rat in the water, PLEASE DON'T !$#@# TRY TO CATAPULT THE !%@#!# THING. You'd be stupid to try because 1. it's a dead rat, 2. its in the water and 3. there're worse things than that dead rat in the water which you don't wanna know about. Really.

Oh, and we saw some kids drawing us canoiests. Dam cute, i even got one of 'em pics in my phone, but its outta batt now so maybe i'll upload it some other time for your viewing. But it's nice to know that the work you've been doing had been appreciated by some whom you might not even realise were. But it makes you wonder if they were watching when you... Nevermind..

Yarp i might cover more stuff next time. For now, Great job to those who participated today!

Btw, i don't know what happened during the evening shift so get someone else to blog that.
